FAQ’s

  • What does a Senior Resource Partners advocate do?

An SRP advocate helps seniors navigate healthcare, legal, and daily life decisions. We provide guidance, attend appointments if needed, coordinate care, and ensure your wishes are heard and respected. We do not provide medical, legal, or financial advice — we help you understand options and advocate on your behalf.

  • What is the difference between an advocate and an HCPOA?

As an advocate, we guide and support you, communicate with providers, and ensure your needs are met. As a Healthcare Power of Attorney (HCPOA), we are legally authorized to make medical decisions on your behalf if you cannot.

We cannot serve as both advocate and HCPOA at the same time for the same person.

  • How do I get started with SRP?

Start with a free 30-minute consultation. During this session, we’ll discuss your needs, explain how we can help, and outline next steps. Afterward, you can choose hourly services or a retainer package for ongoing support.

  • Are your services free?

All services are professional and fee-based. We offer flexible options, including hourly rates and retainer packages, to provide the support and advocacy you need.

  • Do you work locally or nationwide?

SRP advocates primarily serve the local area in-person but can also provide remote advocacy nationwide. This allows us to coordinate care, attend appointments virtually, and provide guidance no matter where you or your providers are located.

  • How is my personal information protected?

Your privacy is our top priority. We follow strict confidentiality practices and require HIPAA authorization when communicating with healthcare providers. You can trust that your personal information is handled safely and professionally.

  • Can families hire SRP on behalf of a senior?

Yes. Family members can engage SRP to support a loved one. However, the senior must consent to advocacy services, and we ensure their wishes are always central.

  • What kind of events do you host?

We host a variety of events throughout the year — from educational workshops to fun and engaging community gatherings. One of our flagship events is the QC Senior Expo, where seniors can meet our trusted partners in person, explore helpful services, and enjoy a welcoming, no-pressure environment. Events like these are a key part of how we connect seniors with real support and trustworthy professionals.

  • Does insurance cover your services?

Currently, independent patient advocacy services are not covered or reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid or other health insurance benefits. All services are paid for "out of pocket" by the client or responsible party, based on terms within their signed agreement. This is what allows us to have an allegiance to you and why we can be there for you at each step of your journey.

FAQ’s For Businesses

  • Can any business or organization become an SRP Partner?

We carefully vet all potential partners through a selective review process to ensure they meet our high standards of care, professionalism, and alignment with our mission. This includes considering not only qualifications and services offered, but also community reputation, interactions with seniors, and ethical conduct.

Our priority is protecting the trust of the seniors and families we serve. As a result, not all applicants will be approved, and past participation (such as being a vendor at a previous event) does not guarantee future partnership.

  • What’s the benefit of becoming a partner with Senior Resource Partners?

Partnering with SRP means more than just visibility — it means connection. You’ll be part of a trusted, vetted network that’s actively promoted to seniors and caregivers. Benefits include direct referrals, steep event participation discounts (like the QC Senior Expo), marketing support, and the credibility of being associated with a mission-driven organization. It’s a way to grow your business and make a real impact in the community.
